This design project for the rehabilitation of the Vila Real Municipal Market aims to simplify its visual system of signage and orientation through the creation of a completely new pictogram set and the recovery of its visual heritage found on a couple of metal letter signs. Besides these functional elements, a decorative panel was also designed for the upper floor windows. This panel underlines the market’s connection with the natural landscape that surrounds the city. The main goal of the project was to create objects that don’t pollute the market’s visual space, allowing for its identity to be proposed mainly by the richness in color and light, but also smell and sound.
